Epimetheus and his brother Prometheus were responsible for populating the earth and distributing gifts among the earthly creatures.

Epimetheus, being the god of after thought, gave the animals all of the gifts leaving Prometheus' masterpiece of mankind helpless without any gifts. This forced Prometheus to steal fire from Apollo's chariot to give to man as a gift.

Zeus was furious and ordered the creation of Pandora, the first woman to deliver evil into the house of man. Despite warnings from Prometheus, Epimetheus happily took Pandora as his wife.

When Pandora arrived she opened a jar that released a plague of harmful spirits to trouble mankind leaving only hope to succor the race.
